Together with my wife, De Galesloot, we are the proud owners of Century 21 Advantage. A franchise history here in Red Deer that dates back to the mid to late ’70s. We were originally called Century 21 Botterill McKee Anderson. Over the years our name has changed until we settled on the simplistic Century 21 Advantage.

I’ve been actively selling real estate since 2002. I was invited to purchase the brokerage from parents who were the broker-owners at the time in 2008. I became an owner and the broker of record in 2009.

As an active REALTOR® and growing up in a C21 real estate family, it only seemed natural to give back to our industry. I have been a director of the local real estate board, Central Alberta REALTORS® Association (CARA), and am proud to have served as President of CARA in 2011. After my tenure at CARA, I also served as a director for our provincial Association AREA (Alberta Real Estate Association).

Like you, there are more things than just work. So I have volunteered my time in many other ways.

Renee Caron

Renee Caron, REALTOR

With a vast history of working in the construction industry ranging from supervision to hands-on roles, Renee Caron hosts a deep understanding of the entire construction cycle. These experiences and knowledge she now employs in her career as a licensed commercial real estate agent delivering dedicated, detailed and reliable service to all her clients across Alberta. Joe Perry

Fewer and fewer people these days can say, “born & raised Red Deerian”. Quite honestly, I can’t either. But having cemented myself,  my lovely wife of 12 years, our 3 boys & 1 sweet little girl here many years ago, we’re proud to call Red Deer and area home!

We are in the process of offering Red Deer and area, their first Alcohol & drug recovery centre right in the heart of downtown Red Deer. The faith community helping the business community grow and expand, by ensuring our marginalized and addicted are taken care of. Franklin D. Roosevelt said it best when he said,” The test of our progress in society is not whether we add more to the abundance of those who have much; it is whether we provide enough for those who have too little.”

Tayte Hansen

Tayte Hansen is a business broker with over 5 years of experience in the industry. Tayte was adopted into Team Hansen 5 years ago and was taught the ins and outs of business brokerage by his father, Mark Hansen, who has over 25 years of experience exclusively in business sales. After years of working closely with Mark, Mark was able to pass along 25 years of knowledge and experience to Tayte. Tayte is now considered an expert in the industry specializing in franchises but capable of taking on any business listing into his portfolio.

Tayte is an expert who knows and understands every aspect of the buying and selling process. Whether you are looking to buy or sell a business, Tayte is an excellent point of reference for yourself as he will be able to guide you along the process from either end of the transaction. In the past handful of years, Tayte has sold many types of businesses for his clients such as: gas stations, car washes, quick service restaurants, retail businesses, full service restaurants, mechanic shops, and many more. Tayte has also aided many of his clients looking to step into a specific business operation find that particular business that they have been searching for.

Tayte goes above and beyond the call of duty when working with his clients. Keith Myrol

In My Community

Since 2005, I am a proud advocate for positive reform to the Canadian Justice system.

I have been involved in the Alberta/Canadian music industry for many years and still enjoy and consider music a big part of my life.

My family is my rock and the most important thing in my life. I live to spend time with my wife, daughter and her husband and of course my wonderful grandchildren.

Mark Hansen

Mark Hansen is one of the most experienced and successful business brokers in the industry. He has been licensed and practicing in real estate for over 40 years. The last 25 years, Mark has exclusively dealt in business brokerage.

Mark’s real estate career started in 1976 when he was hired by Pat Toole to work as a sales representative in one of Red Deer’s first offices, Toole and Cote Real Estate. In 1977 Mark left Toole’s office to purchase and become a managing partner in Century 21 Red Deer Realty. Mark managed the brokerage until 1987. He was responsible for hiring and training new sales associates, marketing and advertising the brokerage and overseeing the entire operation. During this time, he continued to list and sell his own portfolio of real estate and received many sales awards. The most notable awards were the “#1 Sales Representative in Alberta” which he received in 1984 as well as becoming a member of the “Century 21 Top 21 Award” which he received in the same year out of over 6000 sales representatives across Canada.

Mark purchased the office from his partners in 1987 and became the sole shareholder of the company. Mark continued to manage and operate the brokerage until he sold it to a third party in 1992. During his time managing the operation, Mark brought the office to “Centurion Status.” In 1990 when Mark led the office to “Centurion Status” only 2% of the ten thousand offices worldwide also reaches this level of production.

While Mark operated the brokerage and practiced residential real estate from 1977 to 1992, he noticed one thing: that many clients were looking for representatives to help sell their businesses. They would end up listing with a residential or commercial sales representative which usually did not procure a sale. This was mostly due to the complexity of business transactions, their incomparability to commercial and residential transactions as well as the representative’s unfamiliarity with business sales. Mark saw an opportunity and set out to service the demographic. Since 1992 he has dedicated himself to exclusively practice in business brokerage. He has helped thousands of people buy and sell businesses. When Mark sets his mind to do something, he does it and he does it well. Over the past 23 years as a business broker, Mark has received the “Centurion Producer Award” 13 times. Most representatives go their entire career without seeing this award once. In addition, Mark’s most notable accolade was when he received the “Double Centurion Producer Award” in 2005. Mark is an expert in the field and his vast knowledge and experience in the industry is surpassed by none.

Mark has since developed his own team of business broker associates and administrative leaders, Team Hansen. Mark created and trained Team Hansen to help service his clients to the fullest extent possible. Mark has trained the team, which includes his son Tayte Hansen, to be experts in the field of business brokerage and to provide the highest quality of service to their clientele. With Mark and his son Tayte working full-time as exclusive business brokers, they can provide a level of service to their clients exceeded by none. They strive to meet their clientele’s needs and to help their clients attain their buying and selling dreams.
